Kariya to sit out 2010-11 season

The news was announced by Kariya's agent, Don Baizley, according to multiple media outlets.

Since being selected fourth overall in the 1993 draft by Anaheim, Kariya has also played with the Ducks, Avalanche and Predators. In 989 career games, he has recorded 402 goals and 587 assists.
